IF THIS summer your planning to visit Manali and if you want to go to Rohtang pass or beyond you need to get a permit for your vehicle. Tourism development council Manali has started a online portal .

Travellers/ Tourist can get the permit by paying the congestion fee and registering on the portal. You can get the print out of the permit , which you can show at the checkpost. no one is allowed to  travel on Manali rohtang pass road without online Permit.Screenshot (307)

Applying for Rohtang Pass permit is an easy process.As per the directions and orders of National Green Tribunal , only a limited number of vehicles are permitted to go beyond Manali on Rohtang Pass road. 400 Diesel and 800 petrol vehicles are allowed to go towards rohtang. This process helps decongest the roads and traffic and as well avoid pollution.

PERMIT IS AVAILABLE ON FIRST CUM FIRST SERVE BASIS THROUGH ONLINE PORTAL

400 DIESEL AND 800 PETROL VEHICLE DAILY ARE ALLOWED

BOOKING STARTS AROUND 12 IN NOON AND ALL PERMITS ARE BOOKED IN 10-15 MINUTES

NO VEHICLE IS PERMITED ON TUESDAY AS  TUESDAY IS ROAD MAINTAINCE DAY

 ONCE YOU HAVE THE PERMIT YOU CAN ONLY CROSS THE CHECKPOST  DURING THE TWO TIME SLOT ONE IS FROM 6 TO 9 IN MORNING AND THEN FROM 9:30 TO 12:30 PM

YOU CAN BUY PERMIT IN TWO DAY ADVANCE PERIOD.

FOR VEHICLE GOING BEYOND ROHTANG YOU NEED TO PAY ONLY THE CONGESTION FEE

FOR VEHICLE VISITING ROHTANG YOU NEED TO PAY 500 Rs PERMIT fee and 50 RS AS CONGESTION FEE

THEIR IS NOT QUOTA OR RATIONING SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE CROSSING ROHTANG
